23.10.2020 - Delavski Dom Trbovlje

Laibach is celebrating 40 years of existence. The site of the main 4.0 Anniversary event is ‘Delavski Dom Trbovlje’ – where it actually all started 40 years ago.

Delavski Dom Trbovlje is a spectacular modernist cultural center with several great venues. It was created and built between 1952 – 1956 by the architect Marko Župančič, a student of Jože Plečnik, Le Corbusier, and Pierre Jeanneret, in collaboration with architect Oton Gaspari and artist Marij Pregelj, the creator of the great mosaic on the walls of Delavski Dom.

Back in 1980, Laibach was forbidden from holding a very similar ‘coming out’ event in this place of industrial culture; therefore, we are going to do it now instead – 40 years later. Unfortunately, due to the increasingly problematic viral situation and thus more stringent Covid-19 restrictions, a physical audience will not be allowed at the venue, and we cannot do anything about that. Not even the 100 people that we were all hoping for. For all of you who have already bought tickets – your money will therefore be refunded at once. You can instead join everyone else for the live streaming of the event.

The program has been created as a collaboration between Laibach and Zasavje Noisefest International. Unfortunately, we had to cancel all the international acts that were originally scheduled to participate; instead, we will present some incredible acts from Slovenia, inspired by original industrial aesthetics.
